Welsh Harlequin Ducks
Our Welsh Harlequin ducks are outdoors all year round moving through the orchard in rotationally grazed pens so they always have fresh pasture underfoot. We truly adore watching them forage in the orchard and believe that ducks that get to live a natural, healthy, and active life produce the best eggs.
Our ducks are charming and true characters always waddling, head-bobbing and making their presence known, especially if we’re running late! They thrive in the open air, living naturally through the seasons, with plenty of space to forage and constant access to clean water for swimming, splashing and simply enjoying life, Duckstyle!
Welsh Harlequins are a rare heritage breed from the UK. The breed originates from a color variation in Khaki Cambell and was saved from extinction in the decades following its creation.

Our ducks forage on the fields all year around as we continuously move them to fresh pasture. Duck eggs are much bigger than your regular egg and with their beautiful golden orange yolks and luscious rich and creamy flavor they have been highly regarded by our customers. Fjällnära Cows
Our animals spend their days outdoors, living together in a cosy herd grazing the pasture in our apple orchards and finding shade under the big islands of trees. We care deeply for our animals and want them to have the very best of life. We check on them daily often taking time to connect by brushing and petting them or simply giving them a kiss goodnight. Saying goodbye is never easy, but it matters to us that they live a wonderful life, followed by only one difficult day.
Fjällnära are one of Sweden’s oldest heritage breeds built to live off poor forage and thrive even in the harsh winters, like many old breeds they have been outcompeted by the volume produced from modern breeds however their meat and milk quality is far superior winning multiple national awards.
Today, only a small population of Fjällnära cattle remains, When the gene bank was established in 2011, 32 herds were registered, with 25 bulls and 94 cows. By April 2024, the number had grown to 424 registered animals. For us, preserving this unique breed is deeply important. By choosing to buy this meat, you also contribute to making conservation financially sustainable and help ensure the breed’s future.

Why Wonky Roots
Our animals are the sunshine on our farm. They spend their entire life grazing over our fields and most of them are born and raised here. Our top priority is their happiness because they deserve nothing less. It’s a true privilege to see them live like it was meant to be, outside in a flock together with cows, calves, bulls, heifers and steers and for our Welsh Harlequin ducks to roam free in their big pens protected from predators. The cows and ducks moves across the land so they always have fresh grass when the season allows it and with access to shade and shelter when the weather calls for it. We believe that this creates great produce resulting in delicious creamy eggs with a bright orange yolk and tender and flavorsome meat.
